Scottburgh High Celebrates 50 Years!

An assembly was held at Scottburgh High on Friday 01 June. Thank you to our  local community, family, friends, ex-pupils (old boys) and ex-teachers who took time to join us in this celebration.  The opening prayer and reading were done by head boy, Henco van Wyk and head girl, Tia Tommy, followed by a welcoming message by principal, John Cafeteiro.

The guest speaker was the school’s first head girl, Carol Baikie, who is also the principal of Scottburgh Pre-Primary. Mrs Baikie gave the pupils a little insight as to what their school was like in her day and also gave them some advice for the future. Mrs Sheila Nel Smit – one of the longest-serving teachers at the school and Mrs Baikie then proceeded with the cutting of the cake.  The pupils then proceeded to the field for the formation of a giant 50, several of the ex-pupils joined in as well.
