Scottburgh High School’s first hockey team participated in the 2019 SPAR hockey tournament held at Creston College on Saturday 13th April. On Friday 12th April, Suid Natal, (or as we consider them “our sister school”) kindly invited us to spend the night in their hostels. We did drills with their first team, had a braai, made many new friends and had a fun evening. We are grateful for Suid Natal’s invitation and their generous hospitality.

Saturday morning we left Suid Natal for Creston where the tournament was hosted. It was a fun filled day with hard work and lots of competition. All teams played very well. Kokstad College were announced the winners of the tournament. The SPAR tournament never fails to deliver a day filled with fun and sportsmanship.

Scottburgh’s first team started this season as just a first team, but this past weekend allowed us to become closer, not only as a team but as a family. Through hard work, laughing, singing and dancing, our team has shown much improvement. This was definitely a memorable experience, and we look forward to what the rest of season brings.
