SHS Learners scoop awards in the Southern KZN Regional Science Expo

At the recent Southern KZN Regional Eskom Science Expo, which took place in the Umzinto Town Hall on the 13 th of August 2019, some enthusiastic Scottburgh High School learners showcased their science expo projects which were among over 300 projects represented in the venue. After months of hard work these talented learners had the opportunity to discuss their innovative ideas with the judges. enthralled the audience with some amazing science demonstrations. With many amazing creative ideas from these young scientists from our region

Scottburgh High School once again scooped many awards.

Alandra du Plessis and Annabelle van der Merwe received bronze medals. Menzi Cele, Joshua Pillay,

Mmeli Khawula, Paige Russel, Talia Naicker, Saranya Govender, Ameera Shaik and Nigel Govender were awarded silver medals for their efforts.

Khilona Piyarlall was the recipient of a gold medal.

Khilona has done brilliantly in science expos from her Grade 9 year. Over the last 2 years she has represented Southern KZN at the International Science Fair which is held annually in Gauteng. Her achievements have inspired many other learners at Scottburgh High to raise the standard of their science expo projects.
